Every story carries weight—the kind shaped by questions, pain, identity, and the search for belonging. Craig and Gerald’s stories are no different. Their journeys through adoption, identity, and healing reveal something deeply human: the longing to know where we come from and whether we truly matter.

Craig spent much of his life wrestling with questions many adoptees understand all too well—Who am I? Where do I come from? Do I matter? Though he was loved by his adoptive family, there was still a missing piece. When he finally met his birth mother and half-sister later in life, it brought clarity—but it also surfaced years of unprocessed emotions. His journey reminds us that answers don’t always equal healing. Healing is a process.

Gerald’s story carries its own unique challenges. As a Black child adopted into a white family, his experience highlighted the importance of not only being loved but being fully seen. Culture, identity, and roots matter more than many realize. His story shows us that love must be intentional—it must listen, learn, and honor the fullness of who someone is.

Both men faced different circumstances, but their stories echo the same truth: life can leave wounds. And those wounds don’t simply disappear with time—they require healing.

But here’s where their stories shift from being just human stories to something greater.

When Craig and Gerald began to walk in relationship with Jesus, everything started to change.

Not instantly. Not perfectly. But deeply.

Jesus doesn’t erase our past—He redeems it.

Where there were questions about identity, He brings truth: we are chosen, loved, and adopted into God’s family.

Where there was pain, He brings healing.

Where there was confusion, He brings purpose.

Walking with Jesus means allowing Him into the broken places—the unanswered questions, the grief, the identity struggles. It means trusting that even when life doesn’t make sense, God is still writing something good.

Scripture reminds us to “guard our hearts” and to dwell on what is good. That doesn’t mean ignoring the hard parts of our story. It means inviting God into them and allowing Him to transform them.

Craig and Gerald’s journeys show us that healing is not about forgetting the past—it’s about letting God redefine it.

Because in Christ, your story is never finished.

No matter where you started.

No matter what you’ve been through.

No matter how many questions remain.

Jesus is still writing.

And as we choose to walk with Him daily, surrendering our pain, our identity, and our future, we begin to see something incredible:

What once felt broken becomes a testimony.

What once felt empty becomes filled with purpose.

What once felt like the end becomes a new beginning.

Your story matters. And in the hands of Jesus, it becomes something beautiful.
